The World's Sleepiest Commuter.
netflixed:
The World's Fastest Indian

Not a bad story, but not a good movie. It started off well, and I genuinely was won over by Burt Munro, the crazy old kiwi motorcyclist who wants to break the world's land speed record. But once he gets to the U.S., he meets one kooky character after another (the crossdresser with a heart of gold, the travelling Marine, the helpful car salesman played by Paul Rodriguez...), and man it got boring. But then he ends up at the Bonneville Salt Flats and the movie picks up speed again, haha. So yeah, it wasn't terrible, just not great. I am, however, ready to list Burt Munro among my favorite New Zealanders, after Colin McKenzie, Peter Jackson, Paikea from Whale Rider, and Bilbo Baggins.

next in queue:
Kandukonden, Kandukonden

In other news, I finally fell asleep on the bus. That is, I've fallen asleep on the way home plenty of times, but this time I actually missed my stop and the empty bus headed back to the depot with me curled up on the last row like a sleeping baby. Man I felt like a maroon. I think I scared the bus driver half to death when I walked behind her to tell her I was still aboard. Anyway, she dropped me off at Gulfgate and zeWife picked me up and we ate some great Pappa's BBQ baked potatoes, so all was good.

I think it was some kind of public transportation karma, a way for the universe to give me one last crazy bus experience before I go back to driving myself to work. zeWife and I are picking up a second car, possibly tonight, after which I'll be driving Marzi-Ru (the black Cavalier) to work. The new car is a blue granite Chevy Cobalt, which is great because it matches zeWife's eyes (when she wears red). I don't have a name for it yet but I'm leaning towards Munro. We'll see.
