For the past few years, zeWife and I have tried to honor our cultural heritage on Cinco de Mayo by viewing a film of noted Hispanic significance. Past film fests of ours have included such gems as
La Bamba,
Born In East L.A., and
The Three Amigos.
This year, we decided to watch
The Motorcycle Diaries, starring Mexican hearth-throb Gael García Bernal.
Somehow instead, however, we ended up watching
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events starring Mexican heart-throb Luis Guzman.
The holiday suffered for it.
